Kids love sand dunes, clambering up them and rolling down. Rum has some of the biggest they’ve ever seen. Getting close to animals; riding through the desert. Collecting dead wood for campfires, overnighting in a bedouin tent, copying ancient cave drawings; exploring and discovering. Wadi Rum is a safe and hugely stimulatiing environment for children and families, just having fun being there together.

We operate different types of tours which vary in duration and start times depending on
the season. we’ll confirm your start time in your booking confirmation email. It’s important that we
know what time you are arriving in advance, so we can be waiting to greet you on arrival.
Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your tour start time.

Our guides speak English and Arabic. Most guides learn English while working with tourists and some know a few phrases from other languages but they’re not fluent.

We don’t recommend our tours for guests late in their pregnancy. The desert tracks in Wadi Rum are particularly bumpy so the main concern for pregnant women would be during the tour when riding in our 4x4s. For guests early in their pregnancy, we can arrange a closed vehicle that will be less bumpy. Leave a note in your booking if you would like this option.

The majority of rain occurs in Wadi Rum during the winter months (December – February), although rain showers are short so tours can continue as normal. On average,
Wadi Rum receives only 14 days of rain each year. We still operate our 4×4 tours when it’s raining. In the event of rain or cold weather, you’ll be able to sit inside the vehicle. The majority of the sights and landmarks on the tour are exposed, however, there is usually a
Bedouin tent nearby selling souvenirs and they have a seating area protected from the rain.
If the forecast is predicting heavy/prolonged rain, then you are free to cancel your tour and reschedule for another day.

Check-in is from 4:00 PM (earlier in winter), and check-out is until 10:00 AM. Tours start
from the camp around 9 AM.

Yes. We have electricity in each tent for lights and the power socket for charging devices.

We understand that most travelers prefer a private bathroom. Still, in a desert environment, we consider private facilities and the extra water usage that comes with it inappropriately. Therefore we decided to have one bathroom building for all our guests. We pay a lot of attention to cleaning to ensure the bathroom building is spotlessly clean for our guests every day.

Our bathroom is modern with two showers with dressing areas, two western toilets, and two washbasins. And we have a solar hot water system to provide warm water in the showers.

‘Under the Stars’ is our wild camping experience. You will spend the evening sitting around the fire in our desert ‘cave’, which is located in a sheltered canyon. Once it’s time to sleep, you’ll retreat to a cozy bed (mattress and blankets) laid out under the stars.
You will fall asleep under a million stars and if you’re lucky with the weather and the moon, you can be able to contemplate the milky way or see meteors zip by. The next morning you wake up with the sunrise, and you discover the stunning landscape around you. Sleeping under the stars makes special desert memories for life…

In our ‘cave’ means back to basics. So, no running water, no toilet, and no shower. All that we have is what we bring along

We have designated places, ‘toilets with a view’ as we call them, where you can mind your business. And we request all our guests not to leave toilet paper (also not the biodegradable ones), and other things behind as in arid areas like our desert decomposition can take decades.
As for taking a shower, that won’t be possible when you sleep under the stars. You can take a shower the next evening at our camp or your next accommodation.

Once it is time to sleep, we will organize the mattresses on a carpet and provide you with your sleeping equipment. It consists of a sleeping bag and sheet. And during colder nights, we also offer blankets. Please note that we don’t provide pillows. If you want to bring your own sleeping equipment, that is fine with us. But it is not necessary.

We can not pick you up at another camp. Tours start and end at the camp or the Village.
